back to full body days. i experimented with an upper-lower split to see how my body would adjust and adapt. i initially liked lifting in the AM and doing cardio later in the day. but after some time, i realized it’s just not my cup of tea. which is fine. different things work for different people. but it was nice switching it up. right now, i feel like i’m going through a natural bulk phase. which i have mixed feelings about. sometime after the gyms closed, i ended up losing a bit of lean body mass. which i’m currently working on rebuilding. some days are rough (thanks to BD), but i always do my best to keep things in perspective. one thing that gives me solace is seeing my lifts improve. besides, staying ultra lean year round is not sustainable for a vast majority of people, myself included. i’m more focused on continually improving the quality of my lifts and the quality of my life.
last slide is just a video of me doing bench press. i’ve finally worked my way up to benching 95lbs for 3x10, which is a big deal for me, personally. i’ve got a love-hate relationship with chest workouts, lol. during this time period, i always struggled on my last sets. i could manage 2 full sets with no problem, and by the last rep of my 3rd set, i would just hit a wall. but i’ve gradually been able to lift the bar higher and higher before reaching failure. i think people really underestimate the importance of hitting failure in order to grow. anyway, i hope y’all have a great and spooky weekend.
