Three months ago I was really lost. I was in so much pain. Physically and mentally. I had tried so many diets, keto, fasting, low carb, you name it I tried it. I worked out. I ran. I watched what I ate drank tons of water And. N.O.T.H.I.N.G. the scale would not move. . No matter what I did I gained. In fact it was going up! I was so frustrated because I HAVE lost weight before and it was NEVER this hard. I stopped weighing myself because it was useless each day was getting worse. Didn’t matter I would be so good for a month and I would get on the scale and gain. First it was 5 then 10 then 15 then 20. Finally I had enough. I knew it was something else.
July 29 I went to an internal medicine doctor and told her my struggles; weight gain, whole body aches, insomnia, depression, anxiety, low libido, fatigue, hair loss, bloating, mental fog and lack of energy. Also that despite what I did workout wise and ate I was still gaining. She said she would bet money on the fact that I am estrogen dominant. She was the first doctor that heard me. My blood was taken to test my estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, vitamin b12, magnesium, vitamin d, cortisol, testosterone, lipid, kidneys, and for my food intolerances. I came in looking for answers and not quick fixes or pills. I came to heal my body that from the ages of 13-30 I did not treat it as the temple that it is.
August 8 I went to my follow up appointment. I was already down 6lbs from starting an estrogen dominant diet in preparation to expect those results! She was right. I was estrogen dominant. I had almost NO progestogen in my body. My B12, D and magnesium were all low. Also my food intolerant test. WOW. My normal diet my whole life was hurting me and I had no idea. I am intolerant to ALL dairy, chicken turkey, lamb and cheese. I am intolerant to gluten also. To put it simply I can have all fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, pork and beef! I am not much of a beef eater because I love cows. I am enjoying cooking more vegan meals and appreciating the whole cooking process because I am healing and nourishing my body this time. Learning how to heal my body naturally is very important to me.
