Fatigued as F**k
Took my deload a week early again this phase, which is definitely not ideal.
If things were linear, this would mean that I basically lose out on 25% of potential overloading gains.
So why did I do it?
It’s been a good 18months since following a really structured program. One that has me constantly overloading, to the point that if I am not eating and napping right afterwards, the rest of my day is very half arsed.
Therefore, although the objective has me expecting to do one thing, the way I am feeling and performing is telling me different. Additionally, the re-introduction of study stuff and an increase workload wouldn’t of helped.
All in all, I’ve taken it early both times because I’m purely not prepared yet to handle it.
So rather than risk progression or an unnecessary injury/niggle, it just made sense to hold back and fingers crossed make some progress in my testing week.
- Maintain intensity, drop volume 50%
- Ie. 2-3 sets at same difficulty + repetitions.
