INFO OF THE DAY: Today is Christmas Jumper Day. One in four Christmas jumpers were worn once and discarded last year. Encourage others to rewear last year’s jumper, buy second-hand or propose an office swap. Ideas taken from the Fashion Revolution calendar @fash_rev
To create the outfit I use one item I wore the day before.
ITEM: The long grey skirt with tears. I love this skirt!!! I love its shape and colour and the two side tears, which add a nice sexy detail to the outfit I find. I think it’s also quite flattering on my body type so it will become one of my staple pieces according to my predictions.
Long grey skirt with tears: thrifted at the church charity shop (Nassaukerk) (1.25 €)
Brown see-through shirt: found at a clothing swap organized by Huis van de Buurt de Koperen Knoop (0 €)
Grey maxi scarf: found in the street at King’s Day (27th April) (0 €)
Grey belt: vintage thrifted @marblesvintage (10 €)
Brown ankle boots: thrifted at the church charity shop (Nassaukerk) (1.5 €)
WHY I DO THIS: Fashion is one of the major polluting industries in the world contributing to different forms of environmental degradation (including water, air, and soil pollution), violation of human rights for the garment workers and unnecessary amounts of waste. My desire is to show that it is possible to enjoy clothes, have fun, experiment and be creative with them without the need to buy new items. There is already so much available to us that we might as well take advantage of it (while also saving lots of money in the process). If you are interested in sustainability in general, you can also check the sustainability tips I post in my stories every day both in English and Italian. The idea is not to overwhelm you but instead to inspire or encourage you to take little steps towards a more sustainable life for us and the planet.
